Elder Street South Reserve is a 4-hectare former landfill site in Clarinda that has been rehabilitated and is now ready to be turned into a park for the benefit of the community.
Last year we consulted with the community about what sort of park should be built. Nature and being able to enjoy the natural environment were recurring themes, we used this as a springboard to develop a concept for the site.
The concept aims to connect people to nature, while providing active spaces and general amenity. Key features of the plans include: Nature play, Activity zone, Shared path network, Native grassland and grassy woodlands, Open lawn areas, Picnic areas, and Toilet and water facilities.
