Alex Wilkie Reserve in Springvale South is a nature reserve with a environmental education centre and an area dedicated to providing local children the opportunity for unstructured learning and play in an essentially “natural” environment.
While at Land Design Partnership, Fraser Design Collaborative staff Lindsay Fraser and Cath Strachan collaborated with the City of Greater Dandenong Staff to prepare both an overall vision and detailed plans for the upgrade of the nature play area.
Key features included a new frog pond / wetland; a fire / converstaion pit; and island deck within a “sea” of indigenous Lomandra longifolia.
